Abstract
Developing high-efficiency, narrowband deep-blue SP-PHOLEDs is a key challenge in display technology. We synthesized three tetradentate Pt(II) emitters (Pt1, Pt2, and Pt3) featuring a tetramethylcyclohexyl (tmCy) group to minimize FWHM. These tmCy-modified NHC Pt(II) complexes showed blue emission at 453–467 nm with high triplet energy. SP-PHOLEDs using these dopants achieved EQEs of 21.7%, 24.0%, and 23.5%. Furthermore, PSF-OLEDs using these complexes as sensitizers with a t-Bu-v-DABNA terminal emitter reached EQEmax values of 36.3%, 28.4%, and 29.4%. These findings prove that the fused tmCy group in the NHC unit is an effective building block for high-performance Pt(II) phosphors and sensitizers in OLEDs.
