Abstract
Perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) are promising candidates for next-generation display technologies due to their high color purity and bandgap tunability. However, the intrinsically low bandgap of iodine-based PQDs hinders pure-red electroluminescence (620-640 nm). Recent studies have shown that hydroiodic acid (HI) can protonate oleylamine into oleylammonium, thereby suppressing crystal growth and inducing a blue shift toward pure-red emission. Nevertheless, the water-rich composition of commercial HI (43 wt.%) solution promotes undesirable [PbI6]4- octahedral etching, which undermines colloidal stability. Here, we report a water-free in-situ HI source mediated synthesis strategy combined with short-chain ligand passivation to improve both charge transport efficiency and stability in CsPbI3 QDs. As a result, we realize perovskite light-emitting diodes exhibiting 640 nm electroluminescence emission peak with enhanced external quantum efficiency and operational stability.
