Abstract

Organic cathodes based on n-type polymers have attracted attention as sustainable alternatives to inorganic cathodes; however, their long-term stability at elevated temperatures remains a critical challenge. In this study, molecular structure engineering was applied to an n-type polymer to enhance the high-temperature durability of organic cathodes. By rationally modifying the polymer backbone and side-chain structure, thermal and electrochemical stability were significantly improved without compromising electrochemical activity. The engineered n-type polymer organic cathode exhibited enhanced long-term cycling stability under high-temperature conditions, demonstrating suppressed performance degradation compared to the reference system. These results highlight molecular structure engineering as an effective strategy for developing high-temperature-stable n-type polymer organic cathodes.
