Abstract

Bulk-heterojunction (BHJ) organic solar cells (OSCs), consisting of a bi-continuous photoactive blend of π-conjugated organic materials, have attracted considerable attention due to their low cost, mechanical flexibility, and compatibility with solution-based processing. However, high-efficiency OSCs are predominantly fabricated via spin-coating, which limits scalability for large-area and mass production. Although scalable coating techniques such as doctor-blade, slot-die, and spray coating have been explored, large-area OSCs fabricated by these methods often suffer from power conversion efficiency losses.
Here, we introduce a transfer-printing process to overcome these limitations and demonstrate both efficient OSCs and flexible OSC modules. Moreover, a dual-function OSC module composed of two independently series-connected sub-cell architectures is successfully integrated into a single system via transfer printing.
