Abstract

Ultrahigh-resolution, mechanically deformable light sources are key for next-generation AR/VR/XR displays, yet printed quantum dot light-emitting diodes (QLEDs) struggle to combine fine patterning with high efficiency. Conventional patterning/printing can introduce interfacial defects and charge leakage, which become more detrimental as pixel sizes shrink. Here we develop an ultrahigh-definition double-layer transfer printing method for QD/ZnO thin films. Using a viscoelastic PDMS stamp with tuned surface modulus, we form uniform, densely packed QD/ZnO layers that suppress leakage. This enables RGB pixel patterns up to 2,565 ppi and monochrome patterns above 20,000 ppi, while achieving an EQE up to 23.3%. We further demonstrate ultrathin wearable QLEDs, suggesting a scalable route toward high-resolution flexible displays.
