A Study on Three-Dimensional Network Ion-Conducting Hydrogel Films Based on Poly(amic acid)

Abstract

Hydrogel is attracting attention as a material with high potential for flexible electronic device development because it has advantages such as transparency, elasticity, and biocompatibility. In this work, we anticipated that incorporating polyamic acid structure into hydrogel networks would ensure structural stability while introducing ethylene oxide chains to create conduction pathways favorable for ion migration. By manufacturing diamine containing EO structure and two kinds of dianhydride (6FDA and ODPA), a novel polyamic acid-based diamine was synthesized. Subsequently, the composition ratio of isocyanate and aromatic triamine was adjusted to produce hydrogel films with a three-dimensional network structure. The prepared hydrogel film was swollen using a lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (Li-TFSI), 1-Ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(EMIM-TFSI) solution and secured a conductivity of 0.18 S/cm2. The manual stretching test confirmed an elongation of 195%.
