Abstract
Biomolecules achieve high structural order by combining inherent chirality with directional noncovalent interactions. A key challenge in supramolecular chemistry is to understand how cooperative interactions amplify a small initial chiral bias into a large chiroptical response, as measured by high g-values. The ‘sergeant-and-soldier’ principle describes how a small amount of a chiral component determines the handedness and amplifies the chirality of an entire assembly. Interestingly, recent studies suggest that such co-assemblies can exhibit even stronger chiroptical activity than purely chiral systems. Here, we establish practical design rules for maximizing chiral amplification using triarylamine building blocks. By tuning the side chains, we identify the specific conditions that maximize chiral induction and transfer, providing a straightforward guideline for achieving highly amplified chirality in diverse architectures.
