Abstract
Titanium dioxide (TiO₂) has shown significant attention as a sustainable anode material for lithium-ion batteries due to its natural abundance, low cost and structural stability. However, its practical application is often hindered by poor electrical conductivity and limited theoretical capacity. To address this, a hollow structure was designed to strength active surface area and mechanical strain during cycle. Furthermore, the carbon coating was applied to improve conductivity and capacity and serve as protective shell. The strategy with the hollow interior and the conductive carbon layer resulted in superior cycling stability and rate capability compared to pristine TiO₂. Morphological and electrochemical evaluations—including Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Cyclic Voltammetry (CV), and Galvanostatic Charge-Discharge (GCD)—demonstrate that this hollow carbon-coated design is a highly effective approach for confirming its potential as a high-performance anode.
