Abstract
Aromatic polysulfones are high-performance engineering polymers with rigid backbones containing aryl ether and sulfone linkages, providing excellent thermal and chemical resistance. However, their non-photocurable nature limits use in light-driven fabrication such as digital light processing (DLP) 3D printing. In this work, methacrylate-functionalized poly(phenyl sulfone) (MAPPSU) was synthesized and characterized by FT-IR, ¹H-NMR, GPC, and thermal analysis (TGA/DSC). Photocurable resins were then formulated by mixing MAPPSU with (meth)acrylate comonomers to obtain systems suitable for DLP 3D printing and glass curing. Mechanical testing showed that MAPPSU-containing dental resins exhibited higher flexural strength than monomer-only controls, indicating that MAPPSU is a promising platform for thermally stable, mechanically reinforced photocurable dental resins.
