Abstract
Perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) have attracted considerable attention as next-generation optoelectronic materials due to excellent optical property and solution processability. However, the long-chain ligands used for surface stabilization exhibit dynamic binding behavior, leaving residual free ligands and impurities after synthesis. These induce surface defects, deteriorate optical property and stability. In this study, we propose a solution purification strategy using hierarchically zeolitic imidazolate framework (HZIF-8) as a purification scavenger. Owing to its coexistence of micro and mesoporous structures, HZIF-8 selectively absorbs and removes free ligands and impurities from PQDs. Unlike conventional ligand exchange or surface modification approaches, this method stabilizes the surface chemical environment and offers a simple, reusable, and highly recovery rate of purification process. This work presents a new purification strategy for effectively addressing limitations of PQDs.
