Abstract
Controlling structural disorder during molecular doping remains a challenge in conjugated polymers (CPs) via mixed-solution doping. Here, we report a photoactivated doping strategy that enables doping-induced ordering by decoupling film formation from charge transfer. By using a photoacid generator as a dopant, charge transfer is fully suppressed in the solution and selectively initiated in the solid state upon UV irradiation. This approach preserves the native crystalline morphology of CPs before activation, while subsequent doping promotes enhanced crystalline ordering of CPs in three dimensons. As a result, carrier density and mobility increase simultaneously, yielding a high electrical conductivity of 78 S cm⁻1 and a power factor of 51 μW m⁻1 K⁻2. Our results demonstrate that photoactivated doping offers a general route to overcome the conventional trade-off between high doping levels and structural order, providing a platform for high-performance organic thermoelectrics.
