Abstract

In this study, we propose a strategy to engineer a multifunctional interlayer by incorporating Zeolitic Imidazolate Framework-8 (ZIF-8), enabling enhanced perovskite grain growth and improved operational stability in perovskite optoelectronic devices. Conventional perovskite devices are sensitive to moisture and oxygen, which induce ionic defect formation within the crystal lattice, ultimately degrading operational stability. To overcome these limitations, a ZIF-8 interlayer is introduced, whose intrinsic porosity characteristics and rough surface morphology simultaneously increase nucleation site density and suppress defect-related grain boundary formation, thereby forming a stable interface. The introduction of this interlayer ensures uniform perovskite film formation and suppresses non-radiative recombination. Consequently, the ZIF-8 interlayer enhances both the efficiency and durability of perovskite optoelectronic.
