Abstract

Increasing EU regulations require at least 20% recycled plastics in new vehicles. In this study, a PCR PA6/PA66/Glassfiber(GF) composite was developed for electric vehicle components, comparable to conventional PA66/GF systems with improved impact resistance. DSC analysis showed two melting peaks, indicating limited miscibility between PA6 and PA66. To improve interfacial compatibility, compatibilizers capable of interacting with amine end groups were introduced. Among six candidates, PEGMA provided the most effective improvement, increasing impact strength by up to 113% without significant tensile strength loss. Reduced enthalpy ratios and increased glass transition temperatures indicated enhanced interchain interactions. Epoxy-functionalized glass fiber further improved mechanical performance. The optimized formulation demonstrated equivalent properties to commercial materials in injection-molded automotive parts, confirming its suitability for immediate mass production.
