Abstract

Lipid membrane–based hybrid nanocarriers provide an effective strategy for integrating biological functionality with delivery for immunomodulation and regenerative therapy. This study introduces nanocarriers formed by hybridization of lipid nanoparticles or nanovesicles with functional biological components to enable local regeneration and systemic immune regulation. Lipid nanovesicles were engineered with anti-inflammatory agents or therapeutic nucleic acids to enhance immunoregulatory activity and tissue repair. To achieve systemic immune control, red blood cell membrane hybridization techniques were developed to exploit innate clearance pathways, enabling preferential accumulation in the spleen. As a central secondary lymphoid organ regulating systemic immune responses, spleen-targeted delivery allows immune reprogramming at the organ level. Overall, lipid membrane–based hybrid nanocarriers represent scalable platform for immunomodulation and regenerative therapy.
