Abstract
Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) is a versatile polymer for biomedical devices owing to its flexibility, biocompatibility, and microstructuring capability. We fabricated a photothermal PDMS patch by embedding a gold-coated nanoturf (Au nanoturf) membrane via molding and sputtering. The Au nanoturf enables efficient light-to-heat conversion through localized surface plasmon resonance. The patch includes micro-holes for in situ human adipose-derived stem cell (hADSC) spheroid formation and delivery. Light irradiation induces mild hyperthermia, boosting cellular paracrine effects and viability. The platform is reusable with maintained integrity after sterilization. In vitro and in vivo wound models showed enhanced angiogenesis and tissue regeneration. This polymer-based photothermal system provides a scalable soft biointerface for regenerative applications.
