Abstract
To address the low reactivity and selectivity of organic gas sensors, this study developed hybrid sensing layers by integrating perovskite nanocrystals into P3HT films. The semiconducting nature of perovskites enhanced charge transport within the hybrid OFETs. While perovskite quantum dots (QDs) maximized mobility through uniform dispersion, perovskite nanowires (NWs) exhibited superior gas interaction due to abundant bromine vacancies and specific crystal domains. Consequently, the device containing 30 wt% NWs achieved the highest NO2 response with a sensitivity of 3.05%/ppm and a detection limit of 0.548 ppm, significantly outperforming pure P3HT and QD-based sensors. These findings demonstrate that defect-engineered perovskite nanocrystals can act as dual-functional additives that enhance both charge transfer and chemical adsorption, paving the way for the development of high-performance room-temperature gas sensors.
