Abstract
In this study, we developed hybrid thermogels composed of octanoyl glycol chitosan (OGC) and gallic acid (GA) as multifunctional materials for hemostatic wound care. OGC is designed as a thermosensitive polymer that undergoes sol−gel transition near physiological temperature, and GA was incorporated at varying concentrations to form a series of OGC/GA thermogels. GA incorporation induced concentration-dependent modulation of the gels’ physical and mechanical properties, while imparting self-healing capability, enhanced tissue adhesion, and tunable degradation behavior. In addition, GA incorporation improved antioxidant and antibacterial performance, suggesting potential benefits for protecting the wound site and supporting a favorable healing environment. Overall, OGC/GA hybrid thermogels represent a promising multifunctional biomaterial platform for bleeding control and wound management.
