Abstract
Barium titanate (BaTiO₃, BTO) holds great promise for enhancing the electrical performance of composites due to its high dielectric constant. However, the aggregation of high-surface-energy BTO nanoparticles limits the electrical and mechanical stability of the composites. To overcome this, we designed BTO/PDMS composites by inducing BTO self-assembly at the liquid–liquid interface, ensuring uniform dispersion and forming an internal polymer network. The resulting BTO elastomer ball array exhibits a unique segregated network structure, concentrating nanoparticles along phase boundaries. This tailored architecture significantly boosts the dielectric constant at low filler loadings while preserving the inherent flexibility of the PDMS matrix. Ultimately, this interfacial assembly strategy offers a facile yet effective platform to overcome existing trade-offs, paving the way for advanced dielectric and energy-harvesting materials.
