Abstract
Organic photodetectors are promising alternatives to inorganic devices due to their flexibility, low-cost fabrication, and tunable optoelectronic properties, with non-fullerene acceptors (NFAs) emerging as key materials for SWIR organic photodetectors.
This work reports the molecular design of NFAs based on an A–D–A′–D–A (ADA′DA) architecture, where long-wavelength absorption is induced by modifying the central A′ core and introducing electron-withdrawing groups. Indanone-derived terminal units are employed to maintain molecular planarity, resulting in narrowed optical bandgaps and absorption extending up to around 1400 nm, demonstrating their potential for SWIR detection.
