Abstract

In this work, we developed a high-performance ink for 3D-printed micro-supercapacitors (MSCs), composed of delaminated MXene (d-MXene), PEDOT:PSS, and carbon nanotubes (CNTs). CNTs prevent the restacking of d-MXene and also produce a conductive percolation network with it. The properties of this composite ink were studied through XRD, SEM, and XPS analyses to establish its viability as a supercapacitor electrode. XRD, SEM, and XPS analyses indicate that CNTs incorporation suppresses d-MXene restacking, while PEDOT:PSS enhance interfacial bonding. This hierarchical structure improves electron transport, ion diffusion, and the electrochemical performance of the printed electrodes. A 3D-printed 7-layer stacked symmetric MSCs with this composite ink achieved a high areal capacitance of 10 mF/cm2 at a scan rate of 10 mV/s. This work validates d-MXene/PEDOT:PSS/CNT composite as a robust material platform for next-generation miniaturized printed energy storage devices.
