Thin and strong adhesive materials based on in-situ polymerization

Abstract

The adhesive materials are one of the important component in various industries including mobility, aerospace, and energy. There are significant needs for adhesives showing high strength at very thin thickness. In this presentation, we introduce an unique strategy to enable thin and strong adhesive materials based on in-situ polymerization. Our novel adhesives enable outstanding adhesion characteristics even at very thin thickness, ca. 30 μm. Furthermore, the designed adhesive materials exhibit superior water resistance which ensuring enhanced durability even in humid environment.
