Abstract
Owing to their exceptional physical properties, such as high thermal conductivity, liquid crystalline epoxy resins (LCERs) have become a focus of extensive research. Herein, we synthesized reactive diepoxide mesogenic compounds and analyzed their curing behaviors with various acid anhydrides. The linear and twisted structures of the curing agents were investigated to examine the significance of polymeric network alignment on the substantial thermal and mechanical properties. The LCERs were assembled in thermal conditions with facile molding techniques. Thermal properties were recorded using thermogravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, dynamic mechanical analysis, and thermal conductivity testing, whereas microstructure was achieved via X-ray scattering analysis. The divergence in the nature of the obtained LCERs will be summarized and discussed in detail during our presentation.
