Abstract
In this presentation, three complementary strategies to overcome this challenge are introduced. First, SEBS-g-PSSA block-graft copolymers derived from commercially available hydrocarbon triblock copolymers are developed to balance ionic conductivity and mechanical flexibility. Second, a rapid and energy-efficient fabrication method for poly(arylene piperidinium)-based anion exchange membranes is presented, avoiding high-boiling solvents and energy-intensive drying steps. Third, thermoplastic elastomeric graft-copolymer “glue” electrolyte membranes with nanoscale phase separation, dual-ion transport pathways, and universal interfacial adhesion are demonstrated. Together, these approaches provide scalable pathways toward next-generation ion-conducting membranes for sustainable energy conversion and storage technologies.
