Abstract
As a marine biopolymer derived from brown algae, alginate is extensively utilized in various biomedical applications, owing to its superior biocompatibility, biodegradability, and inherent porosity. Despite its broad potential in industries such as pharmaceuticals and food, conventional encapsulation methods suffer from limited control over capsule size and shell thickness due to harsh chemical conditions and complex equipment. This study presents a facile strategy for fabricating high-performance alginate capsules through the controlled integration of diverse inorganic and organic nanomaterials. The approach enables precise tuning of capsule dimensions and morphology and allows the design of multi-capsule structures. These features enhance mechanical stability and structural tunability, enabling functions such as robust protection and controlled release. This scalable platform offers a flexible foundation for advanced capsule engineering and functional composite design.
