Oil in water emulsion in cosmetics require long-term stability, yet conventional surfactants may raise irritation and sustainability concerns. Chitosan(CS) is biocompatible and film-forming, but pH-dependent solubility and weak amphiphilicity often limit emulsification to acidic media. A triazole–phenyl moiety was grafted onto CS via CuAAC click chemistry to increase hydrophobicity and expand the stable formulation space for O/W emulsions. Native and modified formulations were evaluated by droplet-size(D4,3) and creaming index. For quantitative formulation analysis, RSM was used to model the combined effects of pH, oil fraction, and emulsifier concentration. Beyond physical stabilization, the platform was explored for cosmeceutical functionality. Future work will incorporate model actives to examine encapsulation, storage stability, and controlled release under skin-relevant conditions.
