Polyimide (PI) is a promising organic insulating material for energy storage and electronic device applications due to its excellent thermal stability, high breakdown strength, and mechanical properties. However, the inherently low dielectric constant of conventional PI limits its use in high-performance devices. In this study, high-dielectric-constant polyimides were synthesized through molecular structure design, including the introduction of polar functional groups, incorporation of double bonds, and control of side-chain carbon number. The molecular structures and thermal properties of the synthesized polyimides were characterized by NMR, FT-IR, TGA, and DSC. The results demonstrate that methacrylate functional groups effectively increase the dielectric constant due to their high polarity. In addition, the dielectric constant increased with increasing carbon number in the side chains, highlighting the importance of molecular design in enhancing dielectric properties.
