Ultraviolet (UV) radiation induces structural alterations in proteins and nucleic acids through photochemical reactions, thereby impairing critical genetic processes such as transcription, replication, and translation, which may result in severe pathophysiological outcomes. In particular, UVA radiation (320–400 nm) is associated with skin irritation, underscoring the necessity for broad-spectrum sunscreens that effectively block both UVA and UVB. Despite their widespread use in cosmetic formulations, several organic UV filters, including octocrylene (OCR), pose potential health risks due to systemic absorption and toxicity concerns. Pluronic F127 micelles were employed as nanocarriers to enhance the solubility and photostability of hydrophobic UV filters, while PETA-based semi-interpenetrating polymer networks (sIPNs) further improved micellar stability.
