Pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs) adhere to various substrates under light pressure due to their inherent tackiness and are widely used in packaging, electronics, and biomedical devices. Incorporation of movable cross-links into PSAs enables efficient stress relaxation, enhancing adhesion performance while maintaining adequate cohesive strength. In this work, we examine the role of mobile cross-links in a biofriendly pressure-sensitive adhesive based on cyclodextrin-derived macromolecular composites. Polyrotaxane containing cyclodextrin units was modified with 2-isocyanatoethyl methacrylate to introduce polymerizable groups. The resulting adhesive networks were characterized by FTIR, DSC, TGA, and mechanical analysis. Systematic variation of adhesive formulations revealed clear structure–property relationships, allowing tuning of network properties and the development of biofriendly, high-tack pressure-sensitive adhesives.
