Freshwater scarcity is intensifying, driving demand for sustainable, decentralized water supply. Sorption-based atmospheric water harvesting (AWH) is attractive, but sorbents must couple high uptake with rapid solar regeneration and safe water quality. To meet these demands, a bead-type MXene–alginate–LiCl composite hydrogel was prepared via Ca2+-mediated alginate crosslinking followed by LiCl post-loading, with MXene enabling photothermal heating. The beads adsorb up to 3.35 g g−1 at 90% RH (25 °C) and heat to 53.9 °C within 30 min under 1 kW m−2 irradiation. Using a dome condenser, collected water reaches 88.8% of bead mass in 6 h; outdoor day–night operation yields 1.9 g g−1 night uptake (11 h) and 105% collection in 6 h sunlight. Performance is stable over >5 cycles, and ICP–AES shows WHO-compliant levels for measured ions (Li+, Ca2+, Mg2+, K+, Na+).
