High-internal-phase emulsions (HIPEs) stabilized without surfactants remain a challenging task due to insufficient interfacial stabilization at high internal phase volume fractions. This study reports a PEGDA-based emulsion template polymerization system where polyethylene glycol diacrylate (PEGDA) simultaneously functions as a monomer, crosslinker, and emulsifier. Stable low-, medium-, and high-internal-phase emulsions were formed without surfactant addition, owing to the amphiphilic nature of the PEG chains and their selective adsorption at the oil-water interface. Under the presence of a photoinitiator, the emulsion structure was effectively fixed via UV-induced photopolymerization, yielding a PEGDA-based porous polymer network. Rheological analysis was conducted to evaluate the mechanical behavior of the resulting polyemulsion. This study presents the design principles for surfactant-free PEGDA emulsion-templated porous materials.
