This study introduces a non-vacuum interfacial lamination technique using the small-molecule acceptor Y6-BO to create a robust sandwich interface between the bulk heterojunction (BHJ) and the cathode. Unlike conventional spin-coating, this approach prevents solvent-induced damage to the underlying layers, ensuring a defect-free and uniform interface. The laminated Y6-BO layer establishes a significant hole-injection barrier by optimizing the HOMO level, which leads to a substantial reduction in dark current. The laminated OPD exhibits a significant reduction in dark current and enhanced detectivity compared to spin-coated devices. It also achieves a higher -3 dB cutoff frequency and a fast response time. When applied as a photoplethysmography sensor, the device demonstrates superior signal clarity with a signal-to-noise ratio of 57.6 dB, accurately detecting cardiovascular activity even after 20 days.
