In recent years, there has been a rapidly growing interest in non-pharmacological and quasi-pharmacological approaches for the treatment of mental and related health disorders. Among these approaches, meditation has emerged as a promising practice that may be partially integrated into standard therapeutic strategies in the future. Numerous studies have demonstrated that meditation induces measurable neurophysiological and biochemical changes, particularly through modulation of key neurotransmitter systems involved in stress regulation, emotional balance, and cognitive function. In this paper, we analyze the effects of meditation on major neurotransmitters, based on current neurobiological evidence. Building on this foundation, we propose and develop prototype electrochemical biosensors based on flexible three-electrode platforms for real-time monitoring of meditation-related neurochemical dynamics.
