Single-crystalline (SC) perovskites are ideal candidates for optoelectronic applications due to their low trap densities, long carrier diffusion lengths, and superior stability compared to their polycrystalline counterparts. However, their practical use is hindered by excessive thickness and limited lateral dimensions, which impede efficient charge transport and device integration.
Herein, we demonstrate SC perovskite thin films with enlarged lateral dimensions and reduced thickness by introducing hydrophobic space-confinement layers and polymer additives. The hydrophobic interface regulates nucleation by reducing surface energy, while the polymer additives modulate crystallization kinetics. This dual strategy effectively suppresses vertical growth while accelerating lateral expansion. These successfully synthesized SC perovskite thin films are expected to be utilized in a wide range of optoelectronic applications
