Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) have emerged as promising rigid, porous platforms for direct air capture (DAC). Although recent studies involving the in-situ polymerization of polyethylenimine (PEI) within COF pores have shown encouraging results, enhancing the CO₂ adsorption capacity per unit mass remains a critical challenge for practical and commercial implementation. In this research, we report a strategy to amplify CO₂ capture performance by systematically tuning the COF pore dimensions, thereby facilitating increased PEI loading within the internal architecture. This structural optimization provides a robust pathway toward high-performance DAC sorbents and advances the development of effective technologies to mitigate climate change.
