This study developed KHCO₃ into one-dimensional (1D) elongated forms to maximize the specific surface area (SSA), effectively overcoming the structural limitations of bulk materials. This structural optimization led to a significant leap in material reactivity and interaction efficiency. The resultant 1D nanofibers significantly enhanced functional performance across multiple applications: they increased the electrical output of triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) when incorporated as fillers in PVDF composites and demonstrated superior flame extinguishing efficiency. Due to their high surface area, the nanofibers enable a more rapid and substantial release of CO₂, proving far more effective for instantaneous fire suppression than conventional forms.
