Aqueous Zn-ion batteries (ZIBs) are promising candidates for next-generation energy storage systems owing to their high capacity, safety, and low cost. However, uncontrollable dendrite growth and parasitic side reactions on Zn anodes hinder their practical applications. In this study, we present a mechanically robust artificial interface composed of a Sodium Alginate (SA) and Ceria (CeO2) nanocomposite fabricated via electrophoretic deposition (EPD). Uniform deposition of SA-Ceria nanocomposite by EPD enhances the mechanical modulus and structural integrity of the protective layer. Optimized SA-Ceria@Zn anode display highly stable plating/stripping cycling performance for up to 2000h at 1mA/cm2, and the full cell assembled with a NVO cathode demonstrates superior electrochemical reversibility.
