내용
Selective oligomerization of ethylene is currently being actively researched. However, research addressing the effects of cocatalysts and solvents is relatively limited. This study performed ethylene trimerization and tetramerization using Cr complexes with two-carbon-bridged diphosphine (PCCP) ligands known for their high selectivity and activity. Triisobutylaluminum (TIBAL) and dry methylaluminoxane (DMAO) were employed as cocatalysts. The effects of cocatalyst composition, reaction temperature, and solvent type on catalytic activity and selectivity were investigated. The formation of catalyst was confirmed by elemental analysis. The distribution of the produced linear alpha olefins was analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). This study provides fundamental understanding and reference data on the effects of cocatalysts and solvents in selective ethylene tri-/tetramerization catalyzed by PCCP-Cr complexes.
