Reversible metal electrodeposition (RME) has been studied in various fields, such as smart windows and dimmable mirrors, because it enables precise control of optical transmittance. In this study, we demonstrate transmittance-adjustable smart glasses by applying RME technology to eyewear. A clip-on structure was adopted so that the device can be easily attached to conventional eyeglasses, and stable control of coloration and bleaching was achieved using only a coin-cell battery. Through this, the practical feasibility of RME-based eyewear is presented, and further expansion to portable and wearable optical devices is expected.
