Scalable MXene delamination is essential for widespread applications, particularly when the resulting nanosheets are suitable for surface functionalization, which enables precise control over their physicochemical properties. In this study, high-pressure homogenization (HPH) is demonstrated as a rapid and scalable method to delaminate multilayer Ti3C2Tx (Tx = –OH, –O, –F) MXene into few-layer nanosheets without chemical intercalants or repeated washing steps. The degree of exfoliation is controlled by varying the number of HPH passes. The resulting nanosheets are subsequently functionalized with catechol-based polymer ligands, with higher delamination degrees leading to enhanced functionalization efficiency.
