Abstract

Amino acids and proteins have inherent chirality and directional preferences, essential to their biological roles. These biomolecules show superior organization and efficiency compared to synthetic polymers. A central topic in supramolecular chemistry is the origin and amplification of homochirality through assemblies that respond to stimuli. These dynamic systems allow efficient chirality transfer via cooperative non-covalent interactions, often reflected in enhanced circular dichroism (CD) signals. The “sergeant-and-soldier” principle, where a few chiral sergeants guide achiral soldiers to form chiral assemblies, is a key strategy. Recent studies show that triarylamine derivatives can form co-assemblies with higher chiroptical activity than systems made of only chiral units. This study explores how side chain structures affect chiral amplification and aims to determine optimal molecular conditions to maximize chiral induction and transfer in supramolecular assemblies.
