Abstract

Polymer solar cells (PSCs) are promising photovoltaic technology due to their flexibility, light weight, and low-cost manufacturability. A fundamental approach to enhancing device efficiency involves the optimization of interlayers, which significantly influence charge transport and interfacial characteristics. This study systematically investigates the effect of molybdenum oxide (MoO3) interlayer thickness on the performance of inverted organic solar cells, where the interlayer is positioned between the PM6:Y6 active layer and the Ag top electrode. For this purpose, the thickness of the MoO3 layer is precisely controlled to gain deeper insights into the resulting variations in the device's photovoltaic characteristics. This work demonstrates the critical role of precise interlayer control in the development of high-performance organic solar cells, ultimately aiming to identify the optimal film thickness for enhanced photovoltaic conversion efficiency.
