Abstract

Flexible thermoelectric generators (f-TEGs) are a promising technology that can effectively power wearable devices by utilizing waste heat generated from the human body. Operating f-TEGs requires robust mechanical flexibility and high thermoelectric (TE) performance. Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are ideal for this application due to their high electrical conductivity (>1,000 S cm-1) and flexibility. However, due to their insufficient p- and n-type TE performance and low solution dispersion, uniform large-area coating is difficult. In this study, we developed a simple three-step process using large area CNT sheets with improved dispersibility in aqueous solutions through oxidation. In particular, CNT/PET film ensure improved mechanical flexibility, and molecular doping through drop casting techniques is effective in ensuring convenient and stable TE performance. This study shows a method advantageous for large-area processing and suggests new possibilities for the development of f-TEGs.
