Abstract

Conventional skin electronic platforms depend on rigid substrates and cost-prohibitive fabrication techniques, limiting their mechanical adaptability. In this study, we report a cellulose nanofiber (CNF)-based adhesive electronic system, integrating a three-dimensional octopus-inspired architecture (OIA) and a conductive layer. The OIA directly imprinted onto the CNF, improves interfacial adhesion through mechanical suction and remains structurally stable even upon absorption of active ingredients. The optimized CNFs-OIA retains its architecture, enabling suction-based adhesion to improve skin attachment. A conductive layer was incorporated into the CNF-OIA, enabling the generation of microcurrents. These microcurrents reduce the electrical resistance of the stratum corneum and promote the delivery of active ingredients. This integrated approach offers a scalable solution for next-generation drug delivery. This study was published in: npj Flexible Electronics, 9, 1, 54 (2025)
