Abstract
Halide perovskites offer exceptional optoelectronic properties, but ionic migration challenges device stability. Recently, ion transport has been reinterpreted as a functional mechanism in iontronic devices. Here, we used Cs₄PbBr₆ single crystals as a 0D perovskite platform and locally converted their surfaces to 3D CsPbBr₃ via Prussian blue-mediated CsBr extraction. The resulting heterostructures showed a strong ionic mobility contrast. Time-dependent current under bias revealed negligible decay in Cs₄PbBr₆ but strong, thermally activated decay in CsPbBr₃. Activation energies differed greatly—~2.5 eV for Cs₄PbBr₆ vs. 0.65 eV for CsPbBr₃—enabling polarity-dependent current responses and solid-state ionic rectification.
