Abstract

Amid growing environmental concerns, there is increasing interest in the development of biopolymers derived from renewable bio-based monomers. These materials are attractive alternatives to conventional fossil fuel-based polymers, as they offer comparable performance with reduced ecological impact. Nylon, as one of the three most widely used synthetic fibers, is known for its superior resistance to heat, chemicals, and abrasion, making it an important target for sustainable innovation. In particular, long-chain nylon exhibits lower moisture absorption, and improved dimensional stability compared to short-chain nylon, making them suitable for various engineering and coating applications. In this work, bio-based long chain nylon was synthesized and characterized through structural, thermal, and mechanical analyses. Nylon was synthesized under mild conditions without high pressure, which simplifies the reaction process and reduces energy consumption for eco-friendly production.
