iPSC-derived brain organoids offer a promising platform for modeling neurodegenerative diseases and evaluating drug responses in a patient-specific context. Our research involves CRISPR-Cas9 editing of genes such as ApoE and TREM2, as well as the use of patient-derived iPSCs carrying disease-associated mutations. These models support high-content imaging-based drug screening and tissue-clearing techniques for functional assessment. While rooted in neuroscience, this work has potential to benefit from integration with biomedical materials—such as biofunctional scaffolds or delivery systems. This talk aims to share our organoid-based precision medicine approach and explore future synergy with advanced medical materials.
