Colloidal nanocrystals (NCs) are promising materials for next-generation photovoltaics. Silver bismuth sulfide (AgBiS₂) NCs offer low toxicity, strong absorption, and solution processability. Yet, device efficiency is limited by surface trap states that cause non-radiative losses. We present a donor–acceptor (D/A) strategy using AgBiS₂ NCs with tailored surface ligands. By aligning energy levels and ensuring ink miscibility, we fabricated uniform bulk heterojunction films. This structure enhances charge separation, improves carrier transport, and supports thicker absorber layers. As a result, D/A-based AgBiS₂ solar cells reached 8.26% power conversion efficiency. This approach highlights the potential of molecularly engineered NC inks for eco-friendly, high-performance solar technologies.
