Biodegradable polymers are considered sustainable alternatives to conventional plastics but often face limited functionality that restricts broader use. This study synthesized a UV-curable biodegradable resin with improved surface properties by controlling polymer composition. Copolymers were prepared via ring-opening polymerization of L-lactide and ε-caprolactone, with methacrylate groups introduced at both chain ends to enable UV curing. To enhance surface hydrophobicity, alkyl methacrylate was incorporated, and surface properties were assessed by contact angle measurements after curing. Results showed that increasing alkyl methacrylate content effectively improved the hydrophobicity of the cured resin surface. These findings demonstrate the potential to tailor surface properties of biodegradable resins through monomer design and UV curing, suggesting their applicability in eco-friendly fields requiring both biodegradability and performance.
