Liquid embolic agents are increasingly used in endovascular procedures due to their permanence, injectability, and high filling efficiency. However, Histoacryl® has limitations such as poor radiopacity and strong microcatheter adhesion. To overcome this, a new embolic composition combining iodinated (IECA) and fluorinated (PFPCA) cyanoacrylates was developed. IECA offers high radiopacity (1,100 mgI/mL), while PFPCA provides fast polymerization (15.77 ± 1.96 μL/s) and low catheter adhesion (8.65 ± 0.79 N), improving usability. In rabbit renal artery embolization, the mixture with ethyl oleate achieved complete vessel occlusion and durable embolic effect, demonstrating its clinical potential.
