내용
This study aims to modify the surface of polyethylene (PE) films by generating free radicals through electron beam (EB) irradiation and subsequently introducing functional molecules. EB irradiation was carried out under both air and nitrogen atmospheres. In the air atmosphere, functional monolayers were formed via silanization using (3-glycidyloxypropyl)trimethoxysilane (GPTMS) and (3-mercaptopropyl)trimethoxysilane (MPTMS). Under the nitrogen atmosphere, free radicals were generated on the PE surface, allowing for surface modification through grafting of glycidyl methacrylate (GMA). The chemical and physical characteristics of the modified surface were analyzed using contact angle measurements, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy, and scanning electron microscopy.
